IMPORTANT NOTICE: Rice Day Rescheduled

Rice Day was the original fundraising activity for Two Villages. Its aim has been to engage children and people from across the community to eat a simple bowl of white rice for lunch – just for one day. The activity recognizes the role of this food staple for half of the world’s population. Further, we join together in appreciation of this simple meal, acknowledging that most of the world struggles with food supply issues. An initial fundraiser in 2006 has grown to an event shared among thousands of students in many schools and communities.

This year, Rice Day is scheduled for November 18th. Participating schools are to plan for the event several weeks in advance. Generate interest and a supply of rice. Engage the greater school community, parents and businesses to support your efforts. Students are to have a simple bowl of rice while donating lunch money to this year’s project – helping the "Young Farmers Scouts" of Timor Leste.
